VALENTINA KHOMYAKOVA
Korosten Center

Valentina Khomyakova, a Russian, was born in 1936 near Moscow.  In 1955 after finishing Technical School, she was sent to Irkursk, Siberia by the Soviet Government. After the Chernobyl explosion in 1987 she moved to Korosten with her family.  Shortly after her husband died.

All her life Valentina felt there was Someone above who was just and holy. She set out to find Him in various churches in Korosten, eventually making her way to the Grace Baptist Church where she received Jesus as her Savior in 1997.  Almost immediately her heart went out to the poor and needy. She began to help them by sharing her food and clothes, chopping wood for them and visiting the sick in the hospitals.

Recently Valentina resigned from her position with the State Government.  She wondered how she was going to make ends meet.  When asked to serve as director of the Good Samaritan Ministries Center in Korosten, tears came to her eyes. “It’s a miracle!” she said. Valentina will be given a stipend of $30./month. In addition, the center will receive $40./month for ministry support to help the poor, especially widows and orphans, for food, clothing, shelter and medicine.

As another co-sponsor is needed for this village and its director, please contact us at dnmiller@whiz.to.
